Who we are
A hub for the region’s professionals.
HASI is a hub for professionals in business development, strategic planning, marketing and branding, and project management — alongside technical specialists in the energy, manufacturing, agriculture and ICT sectors. The pairing is the point: a strategy that depends on a solar array or a cold store is only as good as the people who can specify and commission one, and those are rarely the same people who wrote the strategy.
Since 2014 we have worked with corporations, business associations and cooperatives across the region, alongside UN agencies, government institutions and international development agencies. The client base is set out in full on the clients page.
Our continuing commitment is to keep our knowledge, skills and methods current, and to apply them where they create the most value. Before we advise, we examine each client’s goals, strategies, operations and structures in depth.

The firm is established
Horn of Africa Strategic Initiatives is founded as a regional management consulting and advisory firm, working in business and organizational development.
2014–2019
A regional client base builds
Work with corporations, business associations and cooperatives across the region, alongside UN agencies, government institutions and international development agencies.
Expansion
Three operational offices
Offices established in Hargeisa, Mogadishu and Jigjiga — covering Somaliland, Somalia and the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
Consolidation
Six integrated practices
The offer consolidates into six practices, so one engagement can run from strategy through advisory to technical delivery without changing firm.
